Major Anti-Drug Operation in Pulwama: One Peddler Arrested, 6kg Cannabis Seized
PULWAMA, APRIL 10: Continuing its strict crackdown on the illegal drug trade, the Pulwama Police achieved a significant breakthrough today by apprehending a drug peddler near Romshi Nallah. The operation resulted in the recovery of a large quantity of contraband, marking another success in the district’s ongoing anti-drug campaign.
During a routine naka checking and patrolling exercise, a police team from Police Post Rahmoo intercepted a suspicious individual carrying a nylon bag. Upon searching the bag, the officers discovered approximately 6 kg of semi-crushed cannabis powder.
The suspect, identified as Ab Hameed Thoker, son of Gh. Ahmad Thoker and a resident of Thokerpora, was immediately taken into custody. All legal formalities were completed on the spot, and the recovered substance was officially seized by the authorities.
Following the arrest, a case has been registered under FIR No. 51/2026 at Police Station Rajpora. The charges have been framed under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act, and a detailed investigation has been initiated to uncover further leads in this illegal network.
