Udhampur: In a major offensive against the narcotics trade, the Udhampur Police has achieved a significant breakthrough by attaching properties worth approximately ₹73 lakhs belonging to notorious drug peddlers. This decisive action is a part of the intensified “Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan,” aimed at making the region completely free from the clutches of substance abuse.
According to the reports received by Great X Kashmir, the police department is now focusing on “Financial Investigation” to ensure that those involved in destroying the lives of the youth do not enjoy the luxuries built on illegal money.
Major Recovery in Majalta: Property Worth ₹65 Lakhs Attached
The most significant action took place under the jurisdiction of Police Station Majalta. Following the registration of FIR No. 09/2026 under various sections of the NDPS Act (8/21/22/27(A)/29), the authorities moved to freeze the assets of the accused.
The accused, identified as Saif Ali, son of Shukr Din and resident of Amara Nikki (Tehsil Majalta), has seen his hard-earned illegal assets being officially attached under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act. The total value of the seized property in this case is estimated to be ₹65 lakhs. The attachment includes:
A newly constructed premium residential house.
An Alto car (Registration No. JK14G-8317).
A Pulsar motorcycle (Registration No. JK14G-7420).
An Oppo mobile phone used for coordinating illegal activities.
Operations in Rehambal: Swift Action Against Peddlers
In another successful operation, the Rehambal Police successfully tracked and attached movable property worth ₹8 lakhs. This action was taken in connection with FIR No. 32/2026 under Section 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act.
The property belongs to an accused named Danish Butt, son of Sabdar Mohd, a resident of Butpora, Chiralla, District Doda. The police have seized a Swift Dzire car (Registration No. DL2CAZ-1209), which was allegedly used as a carrier for smuggling narcotics.
Great X Kashmir Analysis: Breaking the Financial Backbone
With these latest seizures, the total value of properties attached by the Udhampur Police has now reached a staggering ₹1.50 Crore. This strategy of “zero tolerance” is proving to be highly effective. By seizing houses and vehicles, the administration is sending a clear signal: the profit from poison will lead to total poverty for the criminals.
The “Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan” is not just about arrests; it is about cleaning the system. Great X Kashmir understands that such steps are crucial to deterring newcomers from entering this illegal trade.
Police Statement and Public Appeal
The Udhampur Police has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the future of Jammu and Kashmir’s youth. Officials stated that the campaign will continue with even more vigor in the coming months. They have also appealed to the general public to come forward and share any information regarding drug smuggling. The identity of any person providing such information will be kept strictly confidential.
