Srinagar: The Meteorological Department (MeT) has issued a fresh weather advisory for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting a spell of rain and isolated hailstorms across the region over the next few days. According to the latest data, a new Western Disturbance is approaching, which is expected to change the weather pattern significantly from the evening of April 10 until April 13, 2026.

Key Highlights of the Weather Forecast:
Duration of Activity: The main impact of this weather system is expected between April 11 and April 12.
Rainfall: Light to moderate rain is predicted in most parts of the Kashmir Valley and several areas of the Jammu division.
Hailstorm Alert: Isolated areas are at risk of experiencing hailstorms accompanied by strong gusty winds, which could pose a challenge for daily commuters and outdoor activities.
Temperature Drop: Due to the cloudy skies and rainfall, a slight dip in day temperatures is expected across the union territory.
Advisory for Farmers and Travelers
The MeT department has advised farmers to take necessary precautions, as hailstorms at this stage can be sensitive for orchards and standing crops. Travelers moving through hilly terrains and highways are also suggested to check weather conditions before starting their journey, as sudden rain can lead to slippery road conditions.
